Iolanda Santilli died and went back to her eternal home on July 18, 2017. She died peacefully and with the Lord in her heart.
Ms. Santilli was born in Gissi Italy on May 28, 1925 and immigrated to America in 1962. In her younger days she was a dressmaker and homemaker. However, her main thrust and focus was her family, to whom she devoted herself. Her family was her joy. Miss Santilli spent many years being the caretaker, along with his sister Rosina, of her mother Albina.
Miss Santilli was a communicant of St Barnabas Parish in the Bronx. Until the very end she held very deeply felt religious beliefs. Miss Santilli was a wonderful cook who enjoyed focusing on her Abruzzese heritage. She also loved to socialize with her family, always ready with a demitasse of espresso. Ms Santilli love to read, especially the Bible and religious books. She always love to share and discuss about what she read with others. Miss Santilli loved her adopted home, calling America the country par excellence.
Ms Santilli had six brothers and sisters. Sharing in the sorrow of her passing are surviving siblings, her brother Angelo Santilli and her sister Maria Carriero. Also the many nieces and nephews whom she loved so deeply.
The world was a better place because she was in it. We celebrate her life and thank the Lord for having Iolanda Santilli grace our midst with love, kindness and beauty. May she rest in peace.
