Obituary of Charlie Zabransky

Charlie Zabransky of the Bronx NY born August 10, 1922 passed away on April 11, 2018 with his daughters by his side.  He joined his loving and devoted wife Blanche who preceded him in death on March 17, 2018.  She was the love of his life for 70 years and he couldn’t bear to be without her. It is with sadness and joy that he has left us.  Beloved Dad to Louise Zabransky and Diane Quigley (Jimmy). Cherished Grandpa to Rich Shelley (Jenny), Keri Haynie (Jared), Jackie Quigley (Cliff),  Brian Quigley and Nicole Quigley.  Treasured Great Grandpa to Kayle, Max, Sam, Krew, Kaysen, Van, Cal and Reagan.
Charlie lived a full life.  He is a World War II Navy Seabees Veteran.  Charlie served his country overseas and had many war stories he enjoyed sharing. A couple of his jobs were at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the Bayonne Military Ocean Terminal where he operated a forklift.  The job that he loved the most was being the Club House Attendant for his New York Yankees.  He got to meet and become friends with many of the players for 25 years. Not only did he get to be with the players he also met Presidents, Actors, Musicians and many other Athletes. The players had respect for the advice he would give them.  Charlie enjoyed sharing his Baseball knowledge with his Great Grandkids and they soaked in all the tips he would give them.
Charlie traveled with his wife Blanche. They made many memories in their travels.
Quilling was a hobby of his.  He spent many hours making various pictures. One of his creations won an award. Charlie loved his family and friends.  Once you became part of his life he never forgot you. His absence has left a tremendous void.  Charlie and his many stories will live forever in our hearts.    “Believe me when I tell you”.
