Margaret Doyle (nee Loughran) of the Bronx, NY, passed peacefully on February 18th, 2023 at the age of 91. Margaret was born on July 23, 1931 in Belfast, Ireland to Arthur and Margaret (Price) Loughran. She immigrated to the Bronx, NY in 1953. Margaret is predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, her sister Mona (Slavin), brothers Gerard and Arthur and survived by her sister Joan Healy and brother Paul Loughran.
She was the beloved mother to Margaret Beutel (Richard), Catherine Thomas (Jim), Joseph Doyle (Michelle) and Sheila Power (Kevin) and the proud grandmother to Michael, Eric(Katie) Matthew, Stephen (Emily), Claire (Matthew), Molly, Katie, Joe, Maeve, Mairéad , and great-grandchildren Luke, Jack, and Owen. She was lucky to have the love and affection of extended family that included all of her nieces, nephews and in-laws and friends.
Margaret enjoyed creating jewelry and handcrafting knitted and crocheted gifts to share with young and old. She was a retiree of Montefiore Hospital (Local 1199) and worked in Alexander's Buying Department and Citron’s Hardware.
She especially enjoyed being with family and dancing. We will miss her love, enthusiasm, good nature…and her smile.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:45 A.M. in St. Barnabas Church, Bronx, NY
Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY
