Obituary of Leo Brac
We are deeply saddened to announce Leo Francis Brac, 90, quietly passed away on July 1, 2018. The only child of Leon and Lillian Brac, he was born June 14,1928. Teddy, as he was called growing up, was a Bronx native. A high school athlete - baseball and tennis - he graduated from All Hollows and Iona College cum laude. A true Tara Knight. He served with Distinction in the Navy during the Korean War and then as a lifetime executive at NBC during its Golden Years. A friend to Jerry Lewis, Mitch Miller and the actor he most closely resembled, Glenn Ford.
Teddy was a respected golfer and senior champion – Westchester Hills and North Fork were like home. His second calling in life was teaching young and old alike how to play the game. No kinder or more decent person ever lived. He could be hilarious and brash in the same breath and he left behind a legion of friends that loved him as he loved them – Barbara, Sean, Kevin, Barry, Fidelma, Billy the Jeweler, John Engel, the gang at Rory Dolan’s, Joanne, his cousin Deirdre and the Colonel. We’ll all see him later.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 12:00 - 12:15 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704.
Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
