Rosa Valentin

Obituary of Rosa Valentin

Rosa lived a good, long life. She reveled in family, in giving and in loving. She raised 5 beautiful children, embraced 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She birthed the laughter, the screams, the tears, the hopes and dreams that currently fill all of their homes. The support she provided, the laughter she caused, the moments of comfort that her arroz con pollo and habichuelas brought will be insatiably missed. As we sit around someone’s table this Christmas making pasteles as the tribe of strength, compassion, intelligence, empathy, will, passion, steady and understanding she raised we will all say “only she knew how to fold the papel de pasteles into the most perfect gift of goodness”. Her commitment, her steady, her perseverance and fire will be recalled in the stories and hearts of all those who knew her. The example she gave us as daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend will live on in the good life we choose to lead. With a heavy heart we hold infinite gratitude for the love we shared. With everyone’s health and NY regulations in mind, the number of visitors must be monitored. Mourners will be asked to be patient and must prepare to wait outside the building. Visitors will be cycled through while practicing social distancing so that all may have the chance to pay their respects. Please remember, the sick, elderly and those with compromised health, should avoid public settings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held… Our Parishes are also practicing recommended guidelines, limiting the number of people that may gather in church. Seating for family will be designated, and friends will be allowed in as room permits, however, this will be limited. If you would like to attend the Funeral Mass, please understand that seating cannot be guaranteed and you should be prepared to observe from a distance.
