My condolences to the family. I remember when most of you were born. I starting working in the shop during the summers when I was in high school. Patsy just started working there at that time. Patsy spoke Italian and Spanish and little English. There was another worker who only spoke Spanish. My grandfather spoke Italian. To speak to the Spanish worker we would tell my grandfather, he would tell Patsy in Italian and Patsy would tell the worker in Spanish. From then on, Patsy was our international ambassador with non English speaking customers and employees.
Before starting as welder, Patsy was a Landscaper, he taught himself to be an expert welder and fabricator. The shop was located in Soho when it was an artistic community. Many world famous artist would only work with Patsy, to create their sculptures. No matter how famous the person was, nothing started until you paid homage by bringing him a cup of coffee.
