Obituary of Mary T. Cardace

Mary Teresa Cardace was born in the Bronx on January 6, 1927. She earned her angel wings on March 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Cardace in 1996. Mary is survived by her son Thomas Cardace and his wife Marian, daughter Margaret D'Alessandro, son Louis Cardace and his wife Elka Stephanie. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Jason D'Alessandro, Greg D'Alessandro, Caitlyn Cardace, Michael Cardace and Isabella Cardace. An amazing mother and homemaker, Mary was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She also worked for an insurance company for over 20 years. She had a love for shopping, dining out and the occasional glass of vino or beer. She loved to play cards, paint, knit and play bingo. She was always a winner in every game. She was an avid reader, loved watching lifetime movies and Blue Bloods. She also enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends from the senior center. She especially loved going for car rides with Louie by the water. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends. A strong, fiery spirit with an incredible zest for life, Mary certainly lived her best life. She was immensely loved by her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. With everyone’s health and NY regulations in mind, the number of visitors must be monitored. Mourners will be asked to be patient and must prepare to wait outside the building. Visitors will be cycled through while practicing social distancing so that all may have the chance to pay their respects. Please remember, the sick, elderly and those with compromised health, should avoid public settings Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. in Farenga Bros. Funeral Home, 920 Allerton Avenue, Bronx, NY 10469 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held… Our Parishes are also practicing recommended guidelines, limiting the number of people that may gather in church. Seating for family will be designated, and friends will be allowed in as room permits, however, this will be limited. If you would like to attend the Funeral Mass, please understand that seating cannot be guaranteed and you should be prepared to observe from a distance. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church, Bronx, NY Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY
