Obituary of Kevin Heslin

It is with heartbreaking sadness that the family of Kevin Cormac Heslin (NYPD, Captain, retired) of Eastchester, NY and North Myrtle Beach, SC announce his sudden and unexpected passing on May 23, 2021 at the age of 57. Devoted father of 2 adored sons, Kyle Cormac and Flanagan and beloved brother of Eileen Heslin, Seton Heslin-Scott (Norman), Keri McDonough (Patrick), Maura Petriccione (Ken) and Dennis Heslin (Trish). Kevin also leaves behind his love, Michele Schum. Lovingly known as "Goose", he will also be remembered by his loving nieces and nephews, Ryan, Mackenzie, Tara, Matthew, Bryan, Erin, Kevin, Brendan, Connor and Daniel along with many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Kevin was predeceased by his mother Mary Brett Heslin and brothers Michael and Dermot along with his father Michael. was born in the Bronx attending St. Philip Neri Grammar School and graduated from Fordham Prep in 1982. He completed his undergraduate program at Lehman College and earned his Masters degree at Seton Hall University in 2003. His career began with his other family... the New York City Police Department (transit division) rising to the rank of Captain. He retired from his beloved NYPD family in 2007 after more than 20 years on the job. He had been working as an Investigator with the Doyle Group for a number of years. All those who knew and loved the Goose can attest to his kind and gentle character as a loving and supporting dad, brother, partner, cousin, nephew, friend, colleague and teammate. He had such a wide swath of friends ranging from his SPN days through the NYPD days along with his other current golf/Myrtle Beach life. As all know, he liked nothing better than spending time with his family and friends or playing golf or softball..such an easy going, no fuss lifestyle. All would have the same thing to awesome friend.. great guy .. tremendously funny along with being a really smart, laid back, non judgmental man who would help anyone who needed them. He will be missed. Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704 Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Annunciation Church, 475 Westchester Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10707 Private Cremation
