Obituary of Deborah Bartolotta

Deborah “Debbie” Bartolotta passed away on September 2, 2021 at the age of 70, following a major stroke. She was a caring wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. 

Debbie is survived by her husband, Charlie, daughters Charlene and Michele, sons-in-law Alfred and Carmen, and grandchildren Julia and Nathaniel. 

Debbie graduated from Lehman College and earned a Master’s degree in Education. She was a creative and devoted teacher, and taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 3rd grade at both Catholic and public schools in the Bronx. She enjoyed fostering a love of reading in her students and took great pride in teaching. 

Debbie enjoyed doing crafts, word search puzzles, reading and watching classic movies with her family. Family was everything to Debbie. She took great pride in her daughters and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Debbie was known as an outgoing and friendly woman who loved striking up conversations with everyone. She will be dearly missed. 

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 8th from 5-8pm at the Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Ave in Yonkers. Then on Thursday there will be a short viewing in the morning followed by a funeral Mass and burial at St Raymond’s and luncheon at Rory Dolan’s.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's at, American Cancer Society at or Teach for America at, would be greatly appreciated by the family. 

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. in St. Barnabas Church, Bronx, NY

Interment will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY
