Tragedy struck Eloisa at a young age, when her father died when she was 10 years old. She carried that memory her entire life. Eloisaworked for 10 years at a hospital in Udine where she cared for her patients with compassion and grace and was well loved by all her co-workers. In 1960, she left her job and travelled with her son, Domenic, to join her husband in Brisbane, Australia. During her time in Brisbane, she welcomed her daughter Doriana. In 1965, she immigrated with her family to the Bronx, New York. Eloisa had an advantage coming to this country since she already knew English. She loved her new life in the Bronx enjoying the local shopping and making a lot of new friends. Her passion was her garden where she grew tomatoes, basil, radicchio, various herbs and gorgeous flowers. In her later years, she loved going to the neighborhood senior center and having lunch with her friends. Her grandchildren always raved about her pesto (made from basil she grew in her garden), meatballs, homemade hamburgers and french fries, polenta and lasagna.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/
We will miss you forever and you'll always be in our hearts!
