Giuseppe “Pippo” DiNuzzo was born on June 12, 1928 in Ali Marina, Sicily, province of Messina. In 1956, in search of the American dream, Pippo traveled with his wife Concetta and 6-month old son Anthony (1955-2021) on the Andrea Doria ocean liner to America. Their voyage was one of the last round trips to New York before sinking .The DiNuzzo family settled in the Northeast section of the Bronx and grew their family. Pippo is survived by his wife Concetta DiNuzzo, his children, Teresa Tabile (Giuseppe), Graziella DiNuzzo and Maria Vizzi (Giuseppe 1958-2018), and seven grandchildren, Rosalba Neal (Roy), Tatiana Tabile, Cassandra D’Amelio, Christopher D’Amelio, Filippo Tabile, Emily DiNuzzo, and Natalie DiNuzzo. Rosalba and Roy also blessed the family with three great grandchildren, Joseph, and twins Mia and Giuliana.Pippo was an entrepreneur, and ILGWU member, founding Connie Fashions in the early eighties. Pippo’s family share stories of his fishing adventures starting as a young man in Ali Terme, Sicilia and continuing to the NorthFork of Long Island. Working two jobs, Pippo eventually saved enough money to buy a tiny bungalow in Peconic, Long Island where his children could trade the hot summer heat and concrete for bare feet and sand. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
