Obituary of Frances Guadagno
Frances Guadagno of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully on May 21st in Highland, NY at the Wingate of Ulster.
Frances was born in the Bronx on February 3rd, 1923. She was born Filomena but affectionately known as Minnie, Fanny, Frannie, and Frances. She was the daughter of late John Guadagno and Mary (née Santa) Guadagno. Frances lived in the Bronx up until 2019 where she then became a resident Landing of Poughkeepsie.
Frances was pre-deceased by her brothers Salvatore, Carl, Thomas, Frank and sisters Rose and Christine. She is survived by her last cousin Angelina Marchionna. She is survived by her niece Rosemary Zeccardi Giusti her husband Elio Giusti and their daughter Jessica Giusti, along with her nephew Daniel Zeccardi. She also survived by her niece Laura Guadagno Estremera and her husband John and their children, Virginia Guadagno Van Tassel and her husband Garfield along with their children and grandchildren, and Carole Guadagno Mergler and her husband Richard and their children.
Frances worked as a bookkeeper for a variety of companies like Tile Distributors, Lane Bryant, Lerner Shops, and Readers Institute of America. She worked along bosses like Walter Florrell and Peter Bratti, who was her last employer.
Frances loved going to the casinos to gamble where she would drive herself up until she was 96 years old. She loved traveling, going to shows, shopping, watching the Yankee games, and the stock market.
Frances loved going to see her favorite performer, Tom Jones, who she has many pictures with. By the time she was in her 70s, Tom knew her name and face. Frances made many friends throughout her life, most of whom have predeceased her. She was very friendly and always thinking of others, even towards the end.
She will be remembered by her family as being funny, sassy, and sharp. Her passing will affect many as she was truly a mother figure to her nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY on Wednesday May 25, 2022
