Obituary of Esther Inghilterra

Esther Inghilterra, 97, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 27, 1924, in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of Jerome and Virginia Corrao and married Frank (Tutty) Inghilterra on September 7, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY.  Esther is survived by her sons, Ron (Becki) of E. Peoria, IL, Jerome of Coeur D’Alene, ID, and Robert (Monica) of Norwalk, CT; daughter Marie of Carmel, NY; sisters, Pauline Calabria, Jean Anderson, and Adrianne Abbruzze; grandchildren, Bridget Ruholl, Nicole Inghilterra, Kirsten Inghilterra, Justin Orfanella, Reilly Inghilterra, and Marygrace Orfanella; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Esther had a career in banking before becoming an Oncology Nurse at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY, where she was a nurse for 20 plus years before retiring. An avid reader, she loved to knit, grow flowers, and spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters Margie, Anita, and Mary; brother, Vincent; daughters-in-law, Dianne, and Elizabeth; grandson, Timothy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 10:45 AM in St. Barnabas Catholic Church at 409 E. 241^st Street, Bronx, NY 10470. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY

In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
