Obituary of Domenica Giacobino

Beloved sister and aunt went to eternal rest on October 31, 2022. Domenica (also known by many as
Dorothy) is survived by her brother Joseph, sister Mary Esbenshade (Ranz) and nephew Joseph
Esbenshade. She will be greatly missed by her many loving cousins and friends who experienced her
hospitality and generosity.

Domenica was born in the Bronx, NY on December 20,1950 to Rose and Joseph Giacobino who
predeceased her. She attended Our Lady of Grace elementary school, St. Barnabas High School and wasa graduat e of Herbert H. Lehman College.

She began full-time work in retail at the former Alexander’s Department Store. In November of 1993,
she joined the MTA Human Resources Employee Benefits Division. During her 29 years of service, she
used her out-going personality, training as a teacher, and determination administering benefits for
active and retired employees of all agencies.

In her spare time, Domenica enjoyed several creative outlets—sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics
and gardening. She never tired of watching her favorite movies especially the Wizard of Oz, classic
Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel action movies.

For those who wish to remember her in a special way, Domenica’s family would suggest contributions in
her name to Calvary Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering: Neuro-oncology, or Providence Rest.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. in Farenga Bros. Funeral Home, 920 Allerton Avenue, Bronx, NY 10469

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Clare Church, Bronx, NY

Committal Service to follow at Woodlawn Crematory Chapel, Bronx, NY. 

Domenica's Ashes will be interred in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthrone, NY as her final resting place.
