Obituary of Ellen O'Donnell

Ellen O’Donnell (nee Cronogue), age 92, of the Bronx, New York, passed away on November 9, 2022 after a brief illness.  

Born in 1930 in Leitrim, Ireland, she emigrated to the U.S. as a young woman, settling with family in New York.  She married Maurice O’Donnell in 1957 and had a long, happy life as a wife and mother.  She cherished her family and friends, particularly her many friends in Woodlawn.  She enjoyed spending time at activities at the Irish Immigration Center and the Aisling Irish Center.  

Ellen was predeceased by her loving husband in 2016.  She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Bottazzi (Robert) and Helen McLaughlin (Thomas) and her beloved grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Bottazzi, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. in Hodder Farenga Funeral Home, 899 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Barnabas Church, Bronx, NY.

Interment will follow in St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
