Erin Marie McGrath
Sunday February 5th, 2023, at the age of 57

Erin was born on August 31, 1965, to John and Kathleen McGrath in the Fordham section of the Bronx. In the mid 70’s the family relocated to the Woodlawn section of the Bronx where Erin attended St Barnabas Grammar and High School and spent time studying at Lehman College. She was married in 1990 and has two sons Bryan and Andrew DellaRocca.  She absolutely adored her boys and was incredibly proud to be their Mom. Erin had many different jobs during this time which eventually led her to the art world where she worked at many galleries throughout Manhattan and Westchester. This environment encouraged Erin to pursue her own art.

Erin’s love for art and music comes directly from her Mother and Father. Erin’s sense of home design, cooking and antiquing are traits she gained from her mother Kathleen who sadly left us in 1991. Erin could be found listening to Rock, Doo Wop, folk, Country and many other genres of music, this love of all music comes from her Dad, John. Erin spent many years in New Windsor with Duane Van Zandt who sadly passed away in 2016. Erin moved back to Woodlawn unfortunately this was a rough time for her due to lingering leg injuries. During this time Erin built a strong friendship with her stepmother Rosemary. They spent many enjoyable hours together.

Things improved drastically for Erin when she met Robert (Bob) Friedrich and eventually moved to Hamburg NY where their love blossomed, and they were engaged. Erin loved the country life with her fiancé Bob and their dogs and was never happier than at this time. Erin’s love of gardening was taken to new heights in this new environment. She could be found filming wildlife, fishing and generally enjoying the outdoors in her beautiful life with Bob.

Erin is survived by her sons Bryan and Andrew (wife Andrea), her fiancé Bob, her Father John and Stepmother Rosemary, her brother Sean (wife Lucy), her sisters Kelly, Jennifer (husband Liam) and Anita (husband Billy), God child and niece Kathleen, nieces and nephews Ryan, Billy, Matthew and Leanna.
