Obituary of Victoire D. Chatelain

Victoire D. Chatelain, 91, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went on to be with the Lord on February 7, 2023.

She was born on December 22, 1931 to proud parents, Dezamour Dany and Ina Petit-Homme, in St. Louis du Nord, Haiti.  In 1953 she married Rene Chatelain, and from that union, they produced eight children.

In 1973, she migrated to the United States to provide a better life for her family.  As the matriarch of the family, she instilled strong values for higher learning and personal responsibilities in her children.  Her faith in God and fervent prayers are a testament to a long life lived.

Victoire is survived by her younger sister, Julianie Danis; daughters, Marie and Yerlie; sons, Clyde, Eddie, Paul, and Barnes; and their spouse, and loved ones; grandchildren, Renel, Monique, Tiffany, Phillipe, David, Tania, Kenneth Jr., Naria, Victor, Milagros, Christopher, Justin, Elisha, Ertonn; and great-grandchildren Justin, Isaiah, Lily, and London.

Viewing will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 4:00 - 9:00 P.M. in Farenga Bros. Funeral Home, 920 Allerton Avenue, Bronx, NY 10469

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Michael's Church, Bronx, NY

Entombment will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY
